Dietary Services

The diet ordered by each resident's physician
is provided as part of treatment.

A resident's diet is as important as their medication or diagnostic testing. Regular and special diets are prepared with the resident's health, welfare and satisfaction in mind. Meals are served in the dining rooms. If a resident is unable to leave their room, their meal will be brought to them.

Periodically, a dietary representative will visit each resident to discuss their diet and preferences. If a resident has a special request, please inform a staff member and we will try to honor the requests.

If a resident's family or friends would like to bring “home cooked foods” they will need to check with the nurse on duty to make sure the resident's diet allows this type of food. Moreover, we request that only one portion be brought. Refrigerator space is not available to store leftover portions. Any food stored in a resident’s room must be stored in airtight containers. The facility reserves the right to dispose of old, stale or spoiled food. Food not stored in air-tight containers will be removed from the room. Snacks are available through the kitchen or vending machines.
